Highlands Community Church - 3031 NE 10th St Renton, WA 98056
11:30AM - 3:30PM *Lunch Included with Registration
Join us Friday October 10th for our 2nd Annual Summit as we seek to elevate the work of Evangelism together in the Greater Seattle region!
How does a church on mission engage 750k Seattle visitors for the 2026 World Cup? What moment are we in? What open doors do we have in Seattle to help people find and follow Jesus? Have we lost hope in our gospel? It is time to reclaim our calling to go and share good news to our hurting, lost, and broken in our region. The Seattle Evangelism Summit is a 4 hour roundtable style gathering where we aim to hear from unique voices, share discussion and lunch together with other believers in the region, and increase the temperature of evangelism in our region so that all may know Christ’s immeasurable invitation to “Life to the full.”.
We have cultivated a few key conversations on Friday the 10th including our Keynote Fred Markert. Fred will be sharing with us the remarkable moment we are in, with a strong historic and missional context, and how we must walk strategically and boldly through the doors God is unmistakably opening. We will also be hearing from Seattle Pacific University President Dr. Deana Porterfield, who will share on the status of SPU and the critical role of our local educational institutions in helping young people discover the great commission. John Paul Sprechter will give insight to the critical role of prayer in evangelism, and help Jesse Bradley present a short term plan for prayerfully engaging our city this year in preparing for an evangelistic opportunity at the 2026 World Cup.
Registration for Mission's Fest Seattle (20th anniversary) is included with your Greater Seattle Evangelism Summit registration and you are welcome and encouraged to attend any of the other sessions that weekend (Oct. 10-11) as you are able.

Keynote Speaker

Fred Markert
Our Keynote speaker Fred Markert was a marxist atheist living in Berlin, Germany in 1973 when he converted to Christ during the Jesus People movement that swept the world. He has served in missions to the 3.4 billion Unreached for the past 50 years. Fred has ministered in 150 countries, and now serves on the Missions Team at Church Of The Highlands and Highlands College in Birmingham, AL. He also leads a discipleship training retreat center in Montana for youth.
Fred will passionately draw us back to the hope-filled story of Christ and help facilitate discussion with you, our local practitioners to develop a strategic gospel saturation effort, where Christ's kingdom becomes manifest and all would have the opportunity to meet Jesus!
Role of the Institution in the Great Commission:
Dr. Deana Porterfield - President of Seattle Pacific University
Dr. Deana L. Porterfield serves as the 12th president of Seattle Pacific University and the first woman to hold the role since SPU’s founding in 1891. She began her tenure in July 2023 and is leading the University into a new era of growth and renewal.
Under her leadership, SPU has launched SPU140, a bold strategic plan designed to reposition the University for a thriving future. The plan advances enrollment growth, strengthens SPU’s distinctive Christian identity, and secures long-term sustainability. Early results include consecutive years of growth in new student enrollment and renewed momentum around the mission to graduate students of competence, character, and wisdom, shaped by faith and hope.
With more than 37 years of experience in Christian higher education, she is recognized as a visionary leader committed to transformational learning and organizational health. She and her husband, Doug, have two married daughters and five grandchildren.
